My Story
Leia Barnes graduated from the University of Queensland in 2005 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and completed a Graduate Diploma in Neurological Rehabilitation through the University of Western Australia in 2012. She was granted the title of an APA Neurological Physiotherapist in 2013. Leia has attended competency-based training by Dr Susan Herdman and team and has further enhanced her clinical skills by attending advanced vestibular rehabilitation courses in Melbourne, Gold Coast and USA. Leia works as Consultant Vestibular Physiotherapist at Logan Hospital, where she functions as a primary contact vestibular physiotherapist and team leader to a team of passionate vestibular physiotherapists. Previous roles have included the Assistant Director of Physiotherapy (Rehabilitation) at the Gold Coast University Hospital and the Senior Physiotherapist at the Falls and Balance Clinic (Robina). Leia also works in a clinical consultancy role at Advanced Vestibular Clinics. Leia has over 18 years experience in treating patients with vestibular disorders and has been invited to speak at multiple conferences including the Queensland Acoustic Neuroma Conference, Audiology Australia and The Neuro-Otology Society of Australia Annual Clinical and Scientific Meeting.
